How guessing works

While you vote, you can put a name against each song: your guess at who submitted it. Guesses are private until the round is over.

Guessing is optional and it does not affect anybody's score. It feeds a separate leaderboard of its own.

How many songs you can pin on one person

You cannot name the same person on every song. The limit per person matches how many tracks the league asks for, so in a one track league each name can be used once.

If you pick somebody who is already at their limit, the app does not just refuse. It offers to move the guess, and asks which of your existing guesses to give up.

You cannot guess yourself. If you try it through some other route, it is thrown away when the round is scored.

Easier guessing

Some leagues narrow the list to only the people who actually submitted that round, rather than the whole roster. That makes guessing considerably easier, especially in a round where several people sat out.

This is a league setting, chosen when the league is created.

Best Friend standings

Correct guesses build a second leaderboard, sorted by how many you got right. If two people are level, the one placed higher on the main leaderboard comes first.

Best Friend places go onto your permanent profile record alongside league wins, but only if you actually took part in the guessing. Never opening the guess screen does not earn you a podium by default.

Where guesses show up later

Several analytics cards are built on guessing. The detective leaderboard ranks accuracy, the confusion chart shows whose taste keeps getting mistaken for whose, best disguise finds the person hardest to pin down, and predictability shows how well the league reads you compared to random chance.
