Messages

Every league and every crew has its own chat, on its own tab. Messages are up to 500 characters.

Opening a chat drops you at the newest message. Scrolling up loads older ones.

Reactions and editing

Long press a message to react. There are six reactions: thumbs up, heart, laughing, surprised, sad and thanks.

You can edit your own messages. An edited message is marked as edited so the change is visible.

GIFs

The GIF button next to the message box opens a searchable picker. Tap a GIF to send it straight away, without a separate send step.

GIFs play silently and on a loop. Sending one does not interrupt music you have playing.

Links

Web addresses in messages become tappable automatically. Only ordinary web links are turned into links. Anything else stays as plain text.

Mentions

Type @ to mention someone, or use the @ button next to the message box. A mention notifies the people it names, even if they have turned off notifications for every message.

There is also @here, which notifies everyone in the league.

Mentions are worked out when you send the message, so everyone reading it sees exactly the same set of people named.

Mentioning everyone the round is waiting on

Admins and commissioners get one more mention: @unsubmitted, which names only the people the round is still waiting on.

It knows which phase the round is in. During submissions it names people who have not submitted. During voting it names people who have not finalized a ballot. It is exactly the list the round is waiting for, and if the round is waiting on nobody it names nobody at all.

Crew chat does not have it, because crews do not have rounds.

Unread messages

Your read position follows you between devices, so a chat you have caught up on at home is not unread again on your phone.

Unread chat shows as a dot on the chat tab and feeds the count on the app icon.

Reporting and blocking

Any message can be reported. A message you have reported stops appearing for you.

You can also block a person outright. You then stop seeing their comments and messages anywhere in the app, and their messages do not appear on your lock screen. They can still play in the same leagues as you.

Blocked people are listed under Privacy and Safety in Settings, where you can unblock them.
